But with a young child, I became more concerned about the chemicals these were leaving behind and the constant lingering fumes in my home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally I researched and experimented with natural all-purpose cleaning recipes and then tweaked a few to come up with two formulas I LOVE!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first is a soap based cleaner which is suitable on all surfaces but you do need to use a damp cloth (rather than just paper towel) to ensure you don&#8217;t leave any soap streaks behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-items-you-will-need\">Items you will need:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2 cups distilled water<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3tbs <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nourishedlife.com.au\/collections\/dr-bronners\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">castile soap<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>15 drops pure essential oil (<a href=\"https:\/\/stylecurator.com.au\/best-essential-oils-for-cleaning\/\">check out my favourite essential oils for cleaning here<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-steps\">Steps:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong> Combine all ingredients in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biome.com.au\/products\/amber-pet-plastic-trigger-spray-bottle-500ml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PET plastic<\/a> or glass spray bottle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> Shake well and use with a damp cloth to clean any surface in your home.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"683\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/stylecurator.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Castile-soap-683x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Castile soap\" class=\"wp-image-22763\" srcset=\"https:\/\/stylecurator.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Castile-soap-683x1024.jpg 683w, https:\/\/stylecurator.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Castile-soap-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/stylecurator.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Castile-soap-768x1152.jpg 768w, https:\/\/stylecurator.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Castile-soap-280x420.jpg 280w, https:\/\/stylecurator.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Castile-soap-696x1044.jpg 696w, https:\/\/stylecurator.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Castile-soap-300x450.jpg 300w, https:\/\/stylecurator.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Castile-soap-600x900.jpg 600w, https:\/\/stylecurator.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Castile-soap-33x50.jpg 33w, https:\/\/stylecurator.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Castile-soap.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 683px) 100vw, 683px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Our go-to natural cleaner is this surface spray that you can tweak to suit your preferred scent<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-natural-all-purpose-surface-cleaner-vinegar-based\">Natural all-purpose surface cleaner (vinegar based)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The next natural all-purpose surface cleaner is a vinegar based one that I also sometimes add fresh lemon juice to. This one is ideal for cleaning stainless steel surfaces, like appliances. I also like to use it in the bathroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because of the acidic element, this cleaner is not suitable on natural stone or porous surfaces. This recipe uses rubbing alcohol (or vodka) to help with quick drying and avoid streak marks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-items-you-will-need-1\">Items you will need:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hot water<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/4 cup white vinegar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2tbs rubbing alcohol<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>20 drops <a href=\"https:\/\/ecomodernessentials.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pure essential oil<\/a> (orange, peppermint or tea tree are popular choices)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-steps-1\">Steps:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong> Pour all ingredients into a bucket and use immediately with a mop for sparkling clean and streak-free floors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> Alternatively, you can swap hot water for distilled water and pour all ingredients into a large glass jar and soak 3 wash cloths inside. Ensure all the cloths are damp so you may need to add extra water or vinegar, depending on the size of your jar and cloths. These then become natural cleaning wipes that can attach to the head of a floor Swiffer and used as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3.<\/strong> Keep the air-tight jar of natural cleaning wipes in a cool place and use quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4. <\/strong>Wash the cloths after use.
